New England Patriots The New England Patriots are commonly named the "Pats" by sports writers and fans.They are an occupational American football team , which is located in the Greater Boston area. The team competed in the ED(Eastern Division) of the AFC(American Football Conference) in the NFL. In the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, they played their home games . In the 1970 merger of those leagues the team became a member of the NFL. In January 1986 before showing up in SB(Super Bowl) XX, it went towards the finals four times,however,they have been beat by the CB(Chicago Bears). Meanwhile, in January 1997,it also appeared in SB XXXI,but unluckily,they lost to the GBP(Green Bay Packers). From 2001 till 2005, they won 3 SB in four years as the second team in NFL history , and they have continuously won the eighth SB. However, after winning the first eighteen games of their 2007 season ,they were frustrated by the NYG(New York Giants) in SB XLII. On the other hand,under quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick,they have as well created the two longest winning streaks in NFL history,which are an eighteen-game streak in 2003-2004, and a twenty-one-game streak in 2006-2008.
