San Francisco 49ers The San Francisco 49ers are an occupational American football team.The 49ers compete in the WD(Western Division) of the NFC(National Football Conference) in the NFL. They play its home games in San Francisco, California, however, the club's HQ and practice equipments are located in Santa Clara. In 1946 being a charter member of the AAFC( All-America Football Conference),the 49ers started play and then in 1950 after the AAFC merged into the older league,they became a member of the NFL. In SB(Super Bowl wins )they are second only to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 49ers teams between the 1980s and early 1990s were a great dynasty, in which they were given their 5 SB(Super Bowl) triumphs in that span, containing 4 in the 1980s. The 1984 and 1989 teams are particularly notable seasons. During this period ,three-time SB(Super Bowl )MVP Joe Montana, perennial Pro Bowler Ronnie Lott, all-time highest career quarterback rating holder Steve Young, and career touchdown leader Jerry Rice played for the 49ers.
