Tennessee Titans The Tennessee Titans, an occupational American football team, are located in Nashville, Tennessee. They play in the SD(South Division) of the AFC(American Football Conference) in the NFL. The team was known as the Houston Oilers. In 1960 it started play as a charter member of the AFL.Before participating in the NFL as part of the AFL-NFL Merger,it gained 2 AFL championships. In 1997,the team trnasferred from Houston to the state of Tennessee. Before moving to Nashville, they have competed for 1 season in Memphis.
